Chateau Thivin, Cote de Brouilly La Chapelle, 2017
Château Thivin sits at the foot of Mont Brouilly and is the historic reference point for Côte de Brouilly, with the Geoffray family tending steep slopes of volcanic blue granite that give this cru its signature depth and minerality. 'La Chapelle' is a single-vineyard cuvée from a prime parcel near the chapel atop the hill—concentrated, structured Gamay that shows just how ageworthy Beaujolais can be. The 2017 has settled into a lovely mid-life stride, fruit still intact but gaining savory complexity. Drinking well now with room to develop.
