Clos Rougeard, near Chace in Saumur-Champigny, built its reputation making Cabernet Franc that ages like fine Bordeaux, fermented in old cement vats and raised in barrel. Le Clos is the estate's blended Cabernet Franc cuvée, drawn from clay-limestone plots in Saumur-Champigny. The 2010 was a classic, structured vintage with excellent balance, so this still has plenty of life and is drinking very well now. A genuine collector's wine you can actually open.
