Enfield Wine Co., Syrah Haynes, 2016

Enfield's John Lockwood returns to Coombsville's Haynes Vineyard for this cool-climate Syrah, made in his peppery, savory, Rhone-inspired manner from one of Napa's most distinctive sites. The 2016 came from a balanced, even-tempered California vintage that produced wines of harmony and freshness, with ripe dark fruit kept lifted by the cool bay air and stony soils. As with all his Syrah, this favors structure, spice, and savor over plush sweetness. Decant before serving and pour at cool room temperature.
