The most charming origin story in Alsace: in 1970, an English noblewoman dining with Georges Hugel suggested the family slap a romantic name on their Pinot Blanc, and "Cuvee Les Amours" was born. The Hugel family has farmed Alsace since 1639, and this is their friendliest, most approachable wine, a blend of Pinot Blanc and Auxerrois fermented in stainless steel to keep it fresh and unfussy. Not far in spirit from an unoaked Chablis or Macon, it's the bottle you reach for when you want easy pleasure without overthinking it. This half-bottle is perfect for a solo dinner or a small table.
