This is a fortified treasure from the Barossa Valley, made in the rich, sweet style Australia long called "Tokay" (a name now reserved for the local Topaque tradition built on Muscadelle). Trevor Jones blends old fortified material drawn from a solera-style cellar, building extraordinary depth and complexity over many years of barrel aging. The result is a dark, syrupy, after-dinner wine with the kind of intensity that comes only from age. Pour it in small glasses; a little goes a long way.
