Domaine Coquard-Loison-Fleurot, Vosne Romanee, 2022
Vosne-Romanée from a domaine quietly establishing itself as one of Burgundy's most exciting addresses. Thomas Colladot inherited family vines around Flagey-Échezeaux and began bottling under the Coquard-Loison-Fleurot label only in the early 2010s, after generations of selling fruit to négociants. His approach is measured: about thirty percent whole-cluster on most cuvées, eighteen months in oak, no racking, no fining, no filtration — wines made to show their place rather than the cellar. The 2022 vintage was warm but well-balanced, and the village Vosne arrives with that famous Vosne perfume — wild cherry, sweet spice, rose petal — wrapped around a refreshing core. Approachable now, but rewards a few years of patience.
